I learned about non-negotiables very early on as a student, but took six years to realize mine
It was during the final semester of my masters’ in 2016 that I learned a business strategy of non-negotiables a successful business must have. These are your “no matter whats” and the very core aspect of what defines the business.
As a soon-to-be graduates, my professor told the class to have our own non-negotiables to be successful. Today I realized that missing non-negotiable which may have been a primary reason of my dissatisfaction: my own time.
I have taken my own time and self for granted. I have put others in front of me on a grand pedestal — that by some measure any one who is infront of me is better or just about somehow I am not enough. And that is why what the other says is better; that person’s plans are better and decisions are better. Because mine are not good enough.
I would change my day, plans, schedules and decisions to accommodate that other person. Wow. Can you believe that?
In whole scheme of things, and living individual lives, where I’m incharge of solely living my own life, where I can control only my actions and attitude — for some reason are so malleable that my thought process doesn’t even deem it worthy.
Where will the self worth come from, if I cannot value my time?
And that is why, I am here.
I am showing up, for the third day.
A simple gesture.
Making sure I didn’t give away my time to anything else/ anybody else but for my own growth.
I am, my non-negotiable.
Thank You
